How Do I : Use Workflows

Workflow fields appear on the Status bar of the screen when setup. The record will start at the Workflow Step specified in the setup screen as being the Initial state.

  1. Open the Type of Workflow entity to add the workflow to.
  2. Click on the drop down box at the bottom of the screen to see the Workflow Steps that the user can move the record to. In the above example, it can be moved to the First Authorisation or On-Hold step from the Raised step.
  3. Enter a Comment if required. The comment remains until the record is moved to another Workflow Step.
  4. Click the Application tool-bar push button: Change and confirm that you wish to change the record.
  5. The next user assigned in the user role for the next step can change the Workflow Step to the next required step.

If a Workflow Step is specified as a Workflow Only state then the screen will not be editable except for the Workflow fields.

If the Authorisation limit for a user is less than the transaction value then the following message will show up when trying to save the record.
